Where this calendar starts
Editorial check: 31 October 2026. The organisers of Spannabis have announced their Bilbao edition for 12–14 March 2027, at BEC in Barakaldo. This is an announced future event, not a report from an event we have attended. Check the official conditions again before arranging a trip.
On the same dates, the World Cannabis Conference has announced its 16th edition in Bilbao. These are related events, so it is worth distinguishing the fair from the conference programme. Sharing dates or a venue does not mean that every admission arrangement, activity or requirement is identical.
One event, one particular edition
Keep the name, year, city and organiser together as a single set of details. If the year is missing, do not assume the poster refers to the next edition. If the venue changes, an old transport information page may be out of date even if it still ranks well in search results.
Here is a fictional example: you find “Hemp Gathering, March” in a social media post and “September” on an archive page. The answer is not to choose the nearest date. Identify the edition and find the organiser’s current announcement. If the discrepancy cannot be resolved, the listing should remain marked as awaiting confirmation.
Museums and visits are not trade fairs
The Hemp Museum in Callosa de Segura offers another way into the subject: heritage and the memory of traditional trades. A permanent institution should not appear in a list as though it were a one-off fair. Check its official source for visiting arrangements.
Separating formats makes planning easier. Someone looking for a scientific talk needs a programme and an indication of the level; someone interested in traditional tools needs visitor information; someone attending a trade fair needs to know which activities match their interests. The type of event matters as much as its date.
Three ways to explore the same calendar
If objects appeal to you, begin with a cultural visit and bring a question about materials. A rope, a sole or a tool can connect the plant with trades that rarely appear in conversations about cannabinoids. Then look for a talk on design or biomaterials. Your route need not be chronological: it can follow a texture from a display case into contemporary research.
If science is your interest, organise your calendar around questions rather than famous names. An introductory conference can help you understand the vocabulary; a more technical session may show you how a result is measured. Leave time between them to read a reference. Attending fewer activities and finding an original source can be more rewarding than rushing from room to room without time to organise your thoughts.
If you are interested in the legal industry, observe how products are explained: which documents are shown, how a sample is distinguished from a prototype and which questions each professional answers. There is no need to turn the visit into a shopping list. Looking at labels, packaging and ways of communicating can also reveal the sector. Ultimately, the best route leaves you with a new curiosity and a concrete lead to follow.
A calendar that allows for change
For each listing, retain its status and the date it was last checked: announced, postponed, cancelled, completed or awaiting confirmation. These labels describe information, not judgements. An event that has already taken place can still be useful as an archive, provided it is not presented as an upcoming opportunity.
This magazine does not automatically monitor programme changes. The links lead to organisers so you can consult the current version. An honest calendar makes its time limits visible and allows readers to verify the information. That transparency is more useful than promising an “always up-to-date” calendar without a real process to support it.
Take this with you
Check the edition, year, venue and organiser. Treat dates as information reviewed at a particular moment, not as an unchanging guarantee.
Sources you can open
