10-Hydroxyhexahydrocannabinol

The number in 10-OH-HHC indicates a chemical position, not a superior generation of HHC. Identity documentation exists, but a commercial name alone does not establish composition, benefits or a known profile of human effects.

How we read studies and personal accounts ↗

Identity

It denotes HHC hydroxylated at position 10. It is not equivalent to 9-OH-HHC, 11-OH-HHC or HHC-O acetate. Position and spatial arrangement need specifying for rigorous identification.

Terms associated with this entry: 10-hydroxyhexahydrocannabinol, 10-hidroxi-HHC.

Two dates, two questions

A 2015 botanical study described 10α-hydroxyhexahydrocannabinol among compounds isolated from cannabis. The 2025 European report records a 10-OH-HHC notification dated 17 December 2024. Identifying a compound in research and notifying it through market surveillance are different events.

The word ‘natural’ does not settle the research

A finding in plant material does not verify the origin of every later product. Nor does it demonstrate that a commercial mixture reproduces the studied substance. What each sample actually contains remains the relevant question.

What has been studied

No established clinical benefit

The consulted sources provide no demonstrated therapeutic benefits in people for 10-OH-HHC.

Risks and gaps

Identity documentation does not establish human safety; substance-specific clinical data remain insufficient.

Documented forms

A molecule and a product are different things. Read about flowers, resins, oils, creams, capsules and vaping.

Experiences

We have not included a verifiable individual account in this review. We do not fill that gap with commercial stories or invented experiences.

Conclusion

A short profile with visible gaps is preferable to filling the name with effects that remain unproven.

Legal context

Read the Spain note and official sources. Absence from a cited list does not establish that a product is lawful.
